Does anyone really remember what the Russian Federation of States was before it became the Federation? Anyone remember what USSR stood for? Union of Soviet SOCIALIST Republics. In rememberance of the former Soviet Union, the fact that our government is trying to use socialist approaches to "save the economy" should scare the living crap out of you. Think about this crap sandwich on a basic level. Today the government is "rescuing" mortgage companies. Tomorrow the rescue extends to the airlines and then healthcare and then maybe schools and then maybe merchandising entities (stores). Where does it end? All of this "bailout" and "rescue" talk is directed at saving the American economy. The American economy is based on a capitalist structure, not a socialist one and you can't socialize a capitalist economy and still have a capitalist economy.
Let's get to basics and look at the definitions of capitalism and socialism.
Dictionary.com Unabridged (v 1.1) -
cap·i·tal·ism /ˈkæpɪtlˌɪzəm/
–noun
an economic system in which investment in and ownership of the means of production, distribution, and exchange of wealth is made and maintained chiefly by private individuals or corporations, esp. as contrasted to cooperatively or state-owned means of wealth.
Anyone notice the use of the term "private individuals"?
Dictionary.com Unabridged (v 1.1) -so·cial·ism /ˈsoʊʃəˌlɪzəm/
–noun
1.
a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole.
2.
procedure or practice in accordance with this theory.
3.
(in Marxist theory) the stage following capitalism in the transition of a society to communism, characterized by the imperfect implementation of collectivist principles
Wake up and smell the communism, people! Do you really want to lose your right to do anything without government control? Ths so-called economic rescue is a step in that direction! These companies that are "in trouble" need to get themselves out of trouble without government interference. Read the 110-page bill! It's just as disturbing as the 9/11 Report! Terms like "federal property management" should scare the hell out of every American! (I googled "economic bailout bill"). If that wasn't disturbing enough, I was watching Glenn Beck last night and he had a quote from one of these dunderheads about the $700 billion dollar figure. The "Wisdom of Washington" did not arrive at that figure through any data indicating that figure was needed, they just wanted to make it a large number. EXCUSE ME?!?! You want to use my tax dollars to fund this socialist fiasco and you don't even know how much you need?!??!
There is a simpler solution to this economic crisis. Companies in trouble need to get themselves out of their own mess. Americans need to stop this attitude of "I need stuff, just stuff" and start saving and spending wisely. We're in trouble, people and it's not so much the economy. It's the socialist ideas that threaten to "fix" us.

Well said Sista! I think the economy will only continue in its downward spiral if the government steps in to bail these companies out. If they allow them to bail themselves out, I think in the long run..although things may get worse before they get better the economy will prosper in the end.
